Question

Hello,

I have recently purchased a UPD2018 but I am having problems with it. I've tried the recommendation in the manual of trying a different PCI slot and uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers. I've tried the driver off your website and also just letting windows try to find them but neither work. I have attached a few images of what is happening and what my computer is currently running (which i believe has the proper requirements).

Hope you can help me!
Sarah

Answer

Dear Sir:

Please help to check the USB3.1 driver which is you used. The message  show on device management

ASMedia XHCI 1.1 Controller (Please remove this driver, Windows 10 already provide inbox driver )

ASMedia USB3.1 eXtensible Host Controller-1.10(Microsot inbox driver)

USB-Serial (Singel-Channel) can install by windows update.

Question

Hello,

I don't see any "ASMedia XHCI 1.1 Controller" but I do have "ASMedia USB3.1 eXtensible Host Controller-1.10" I have one usb-c port on my motherboard and the one 'usb-c' on the UPD2018 chip seems to be working, just not the 'usb-c (alt)' one, nor will it work when connecting to anything since I guess there's driver errors. I've attached some more photos.

Answer

Dear Sir

According to screen shot of device manager, SUNIX UPD2018 driver install ready in your system.
That's why there are two Asmedia USB3.1 eXtensible Host controller shows up. One is SUNIX board, and the other is your on-board one.

USB-Serial is the Serial EEPROM hardware, and you can select update driver ON-Line to solve it.
This device does NOT impact with USB-C function. This is firmware update purpose.

Do you connect DisplayPort Cable between SUNIX UPD2018 card and on-board's DisplayPort video output? What's your USB-C device connect to SUNIX board?

Question

Hello,

So I plugged in my device and it looks like it is working now as a display! I had switched the chip around again in a different PCI slot but hadn't tried plugging it in again since I was still getting those usb errors in the device manager. So that's working now.

However I still seem to be getting those errors for the USB-serial. I have tried the driver you gave me but it just said that it didn't install cause I had drivers that were better.

Answer

Dear Sir:

I can duplicate the code10 error . because the Asmedia driver will let USB-Serial fail on windows 10.

so i write some steps for you. please refet to the pdf.

Question

Hello,

I followed the .pdf and It looks like that fixed it. Thank you very much for your help with this!

Answer

Dear Sir

Thanks for your reply.
